That is pure flirtation. Our cougar was captive raised by an idiot who, of course, eventually discovered he couldn't keep her. Apparently he looked somewhat like Mr. Bear and she had such a case for him it was embarrassing. I'd work like hell taking care of her and when he'd come over on weekends to visit she made just that noise and rubbed herself against the cage begging for attention. That girl was a wonder. Punched a hole clear through my hand one day when I put it too far through the bars while feeding her. She didn't mean anything by it, just grabbing for what I had, but let me tell you they can sober you the hell up!
Thanks for the nostalgia. I loved that cat, even if she did have the hots for my man.
They make about 100 distinct sounds. I love the subtleties of communicating with them.
