I just saw a very disturbing Movie trailer.

The Movie is called "The Purge". It comes out May, 31 of this year.

Given the country's overcrowded prisons, the U.S. government begins to allow 12-hour periods of time in which all illegal activity is legal. During one of these free-for-alls, a family must protect themselves from a home invasion.

The thought of every, and I mean EVERY law, is thrown out the window is scary. Apparently they stop all, ALL, emergency service's. No Police, no Firefighters, no Paramedics even. The plotline for doing this is that it is suppose to help with crime rates.

It does put me in the mind of "Panic Room" (2002), but one step darker. I do think that it will get many a sociology discussion started.

You can find the trailer on YouTube (was not sure if the trailer was too dark to post) and read some about on http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2184339/

I am kind of torn about if I want to see it or not. I use to be a BIG fan of super scary movies, but after the Tornado, I have to be very picky. What About you guys? Anyone else think it might be something to go see?

If it hits Netflix, and I have nothing else to do... Maybe I'll check it out.

Seems it is taking itself too seriously though for something very improbable.

I'd think they would do gladiator style combat with inmates before they do something like that.

It is sort of end of the world genre, but yet it is trying for that "Saw" fear factor.

Movies like that don't scare me when watching it, so I go for the ones that make me inadvertently laugh such as Evil Dead and stuff like that.
