Give Lola a little kiss on her fuzzy lil' head for me.
I miss snuggling with my munchkins. They'll still snuggle once in awhile, but if they sit on my lap I can barely walk afterward (they're 19 and 12yo).

(14,400 posts)who the hell are you look. I got that same look from my daughter, she's wondering why you keep showing up and she's worried that you're going to be getting in the way.

(135,425 posts)She looks pretty darn good there--none of that post-birth botchy cone-headedness that sometimes doesn't resolve for a bit!
There have been some seriously "ET" kids in my family tree...they all turned out cute, once they plumped out and got settled into themselves, but those first few days can sometimes be a shocker! You lucked out--that one looks cute from the git-go!

(15,499 posts)Sometimes reading threads on LBN can be depressing and I spend too much time worrying about the kind of world we live in, but whenever I see a picture of a new baby or see a new baby in real life, something about a new life makes me regain a bit of my old optimism that there is still a chance that the world can become a better place. Maybe it's just because I'm getting old and my own children are now middle aged, but I need every little bit of optimism I can get these days. I just have a feeling that this little girl is going to have two caring, intelligent, loving parents who will teach her how to carry on that goodness she learns from her parents.
Congratulations. As others have said, there is nothing more important or more satisfying then bringing new life into this world and having big dreams and hopes for your children. Always remember that material things are not as important as unconditional love and attention sprinkled with a healthy dose of fun and laughter. Good luck to you in this wonderful journey you and your wife are embarking on!

(84,711 posts)She's gonna LOVE YOU ....the Daughters always love their Fathers BEST...
As a Mother of a Daughter...I know this from experience...but both Me and My Daughter have had Great Times...Good Times and shared MUCh...but...Daddy was always her "Apples Eye." I thought that was a GOOD THING...although it did annoy me from time to time. I also loved my Own Dad...the nasty person he was...but, My Mother taught me MUCH about LIFE...so BOTH of them were very important to me..but Daughters and Dads...it's very important that bond....really.
I love your "Angry Cat" who is involved in all of this in the most recent photos. (Cat Curiosity..very cool) ....Glad that your "Legacy Cat" is still around. I'm a "cat person" also....
BTW...Another piece of advice...My daughter thought that I loved our Siamese Cat more than her! ...But her Dad loved her the most.
We got a chuckle out of that in later years...and Our Daughter grew up Fine...with some rough Patches...but she's the Pride of our Life...and we wouldn't trade her for ANYTHING! It was an incredible FUN adventure!
She's very successful in her Career . And...she loves both of us very much! It all worked out..in the end..and WHAT FUN we ALL HAD with her GROWING UP! HAVE THE FUN...They will ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT!
