9. For a barking dog

put about ten or so pennies in an empty soda can. Just pick it up and shake it. They find the noise startling and unpleasant and my dogs stop barking immediately. With bigger dogs, toss the can to near where they are standing. Usually now all I have to do is pick the can up and they stop. I have two small dogs and it works on both of them very well.

The baby's face almost immediately took on an expression of great peace.

I know nothing about babies so this was a real eye-opener.

I wonder if the vibration of the sound helps to soothe this little one? It would make sense. I'm bookmarking it because it soothes me to see the peace on that babe's face.

When my son was that small, and for a couple of years after, I'd either take his face gently in my hands, or put my lips near his ear, and whisper. I'd keep it up until it caught his attention more than whatever he was crying about, and he'd stop. Worked a treat.

I have a frequency meter in my phone that I use to tune my guitar.
Both times he 'whispered' baby, it was G.

"Om is one of the most simple and ancient mantras, or sound vibrations. Known as the sacred primordial sound, it is said in the yogic tradition that all sound is born from Om. Om is known as the original vibration of the universe."
