(111,243 posts)as people struggle to bring the bills up to date if they have essential jobs. A hell of a lot of people out there are going to be out of work with absolutely no prospects. Oh, they can go into debt while they try to survive 2 years minimum to retrain, but that assumes they're not over 45 and manage to pick up training that will still be useful by the time they're out of school.
All of this is going to have a ripple effect. The stock market isn't immune, no matter how corporations keep trying tp pump their stocks through buybacks, retirees are going to balance that as they sell stocks to compensate for plunging dividends.
This mess is only getting started. It will get a lot worse before it can get any better.
