Study Warns 1.1 Million Children Could Die as Pandemic Interrupts Access to Food & Medical Care

A new report finds 1.1 million children under 5 could die the next six months from secondary impacts of the pandemic, like disruptions to health services and access to food. Mothers are also imperiled. We speak with Tim Roberton, lead author of the study and assistant scientist in the Department of International Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and with infectious diseases pediatrician Dr. Beate Kampmann.

that is hitting major Metro Areas. We have 10% of our School Aged children living Homeless as well as their parents. Yes there are some food sources available in certain areas of the City. But with Schools closed, where these Children received up to three meals daily, now they have to struggle to find one meal a day.

It has taken a pandemic to awaken our City Politicians to just how their regressive policies towards those in poverty and Homeless Families going without shelter because of their support of low paying jobs in order to advance the Entertainment Industry and Tourist Trade.

But,as our Mayor says, got to open everything up because her Hubby lost his PR spokes person Job with the Convention Bureau do to funding cuts.
