(1,314 posts)I think of what they did (not only to the world with the wars) but to the U.S. economy.
And to think they were just a few months from getting away with it.

(4,987 posts)Folks, all the presidents who were present (Carter, Clinton, Bush-41, Obama & Bush-43) are all members of the same club. This is a very exclusive club. And the members will protect each other. Just like any other private club. None of them have ever gone after their predecessors for crimes committed. It is a secret pact if you look under the covers. Bush-43 will be protected by Obama and Obama will be protected by his followers for anything real or imagined..
It is the way it is!

(3,354 posts)"A provocative instance of this intersection occurred in August of 2006 when President Bush discussed Shakespeare with Brian Williams of MSNBC. Bush told Williams, "I was in Crawford and I said I was looking for a book to read, and Laura said, "You oughtta try Camus.' I also read three Shakespeares ... I've got an eclectic [pronounced "eck-el-ectic"] reading list" (qt. in Williams).

(27,137 posts)Barack: Michelle and I find two girls plenty to try and keep up with.
Babs: After I had George I knew I'd had enough. But my husband wanted a big family, so I just started drinking. I actually remember very little of it after the first couple of years.
Barack: So did you know he had this painting talent all along?
Babs: He drew a lot crazy dark pictures that looked like hellish, broken landscapes with what looked like storms, with all browns, dark greens, blood reds -- you know, dark, dark colors. That was when he was four. I wanted to send him to the doctor but my husband said he was at the moulting stage and that that was normal for their species.
Barack: I don't know if you were aware, but your son is quite the prankster. He had the White House carpenter install a squeaking floor board in the Oval Office, right under my desk chair. For the first month it drove me crazy. I can barely remember what I did my first month in office!
Babs: My son? Hell, that was me.

(193 posts)Check out the commercial with all the presidents and ex presidents together in one place. Obama does a masterful acting job of leaning slightly away from Bush Jr as if he doesn't want to be contaminated. Would have been far more believable if Obama wasn't just like Bush.
