(9,688 posts)Don't Dems realize that every hour they force those asshats to stand in open forum and defend a vote against improved backgrounds is an hour digging their own grave? Furthermore Dems would be seen as having to endure it, not unlike protesters, and the actual filibuster would get tremendous publicity.
Reid's strategy to "precave" to every threatened filibuster (except Rand Paul!) is eeirie.

(6,891 posts)of representative democracy which has a bicameral legislature with 535 members and gives legislative veto power to 41 members of one chamber and is abetted by the majority in getting away with it even when the overwhelming majority of the electorate oppose such behavior. If that is a representative government, the only honest question can be to ask who it represents.
