Related: About this forumStop Scapegoating Muslims for the Boston Attack
After the Boston Marathon Bombing, people are already blaming certain groups even though we do not know who is responsible for the attack yet. Right wing pundits are already blaming Muslims and some saying we should kill all Muslims and some on the left are blaming right wing extremists. There is some evidence for these groups committing these attacks but nonetheless, we shouldn't assume either extremist group committed them yet. As we have seen in other attacks, political figures will exploit this attack and we will continue to scapegoat certain groups by what their extremists do which is completely moronic and childish.

(7,318 posts)All I saw were a few post responses on DU that pressure cookers were often used in bombings in Afghanistan and Pakistan, and on the train explosion in India. Noone said anything about Muslims, though. Did I miss it?
I think this is in response to the guy from Fox News who said kill all Muslims.

(9,688 posts)THAT is what leads to and/or supports war.
The world has been enduring terrorist acts for decades, and more. The terrorist actors have come from all sorts of countries - there is no monopoly on that kind of "acting out" - in fact it's probably part of the human condition that with 7 billion people out there, and ever changing conditions, such acting out is inevitable.
I think it's *insane* to build a terrorist plot by 19 people, however successful, into a war that's killed hundreds of thousands of people, has created draconian laws, and which shows no sign of ending.
Fortunately I've seen some signs of foresight and maturity in how Boston is handling this disaster.
