That movie was in fact forbidden in UK, because it would make people more scared than necessary - and was not given a free pass, before the mid 1990s, when the fear for a nuclear was had subsided somehow in Europe. After 1991, when USSR kind of split into 15 new states - the fear of nuclear attack was less prominent in the mind of most people...

But, nuclear weapons is indeed a danger to the world, even today - maybe more today as the possibility of small impoverish country's like DKPR will test the limits - and maybe accidentally go all the way to prove itself - as the young Kim Jung Un seen to be willing to do - could end up in a nuclear exchange between parties

the air-raid sirens in my town would go off and we students would have to "duck and cover" under our desks. Paranoia strikes deep.

They set off a ton of nukes there in the 50's and it didn't leave any after effe,....what the hell is that plant out there doing to that cat?

And we would get under the desks for drills. Yeah that would have kept us safe.
