(2,596 posts)I'm a big fan, but not really a "trekkie" (close as I got was wearing the definitive sideburns for years, even though no one ever noticed) and I wanted a long time to get into the let over bridge from the Vegas Hotel in St. Louis Science Center. This will be much more popular.

(19,833 posts)I didn't understand what they said about "not the original bridge, that was... blown up" but something from the late 90's.
What's that deal?

(37,158 posts)...when filming the movie Star Trek Generations because that ship crash-landed and the next movie would have a whole different bridge set. No need to save & store the pieces.
However, at least two replica bridges were built, one for the "Star Trek Experience" exhibit in Las Vegas that existed for a number of years. The one this guy has was apparently built at the same time for planned other locations or a traveling exhibit. (Whether it was actually used or just spent years in a warehouse I have no idea.)

(15,380 posts)The premise was that the group you were in was brought into the future so some renegade Klingons could kill you because one of the group is an ancestor of Captain Picard. This is explained to you by a video of Riker on the main viewscreen. I actually got one of the actors in Starfleet garb to stifle a snort when I said, "Well, I for one welcome our new Klingon overlords!"

(38,613 posts)After seeing that documentary about the massive auction they did, selling off ship models, props, costumes, etc, and how much money they raised, this could be the most successful charity EVER!
I'm not sure what they means about the late 90's, did they rebuild the set for DS9 or Voyager? No matter, it's awesome even if it was all done from scratch!

(53,997 posts)Every month I set $30 aside for charity. Usually I donate at one of the booths our church sets up after services. I don't think my 30's gonna make it till Sunday this month.
