Thorrablot -- the Icelandic Midwinter Festival

Last edited Tue Apr 2, 2013, 06:16 PM - Edit history (1)

Join Jon, a new member of the CCP Games team (Creators of EvE Online), as he bonds with his new Viking brothers amidst a banquet of traditional Icelandic midwinter festival delicacies. Learn of Thorrablot's origins and discover why many new CCPers describe their early experiences as elation, exuberance, excitement... and horror.

and he nearly fell over when I told him I wanted to let it ferment in the ground for Thorablott. (We knew each other as I went for fresh fish every other day. He was greatly relieved when I said I was joking)

That doesn't mean I don't want to try it someday. I just have to find a way to get to Iceland.

I wonder though, can you call the ram testicles 'Volcanic Mountain Oysters' considering they're from Iceland?

Norfolk, Dallas, Chicago, New York, D.C., North Dakota, Minnesota, Salt Lake City and Seattle are a few that come to mind, and they usually serve hakarl, the fermented shark. Pretty nasty in my opinion. But if you're near any of those places next winter, you can do that instead of going to Iceland.

But you should go to Iceland - it's an awesome place.
