(9,224 posts)Is she skimming money? This woman has no business running a shelter for animals.
I will sign and call tomorrow.
This stuff makes me so sad... and angry. Thanks.

Someone should notify the LOCAL NEWS STATION IN THAT AREA.
What is WRONG with these people?

(2,289 posts)I don't know what else to say other than she needs to be locked in a freezer with a mirror so she can watch herself freeze. We could perhaps pull her out once her hands and feet have been frostbit and then treating her with the same level of compassion she showed the dogs.
I'm sure the rest of my family will agree (and sign the petition)

(22,765 posts)...like the lamb in the back of pickup truck had been savaged by a dog. Perhaps it was kinder to put the lamb to sleep in the truck rather than cause it more pain by moving it out of the truck first? I hope this wasn't a misleading example among those that are very good examples...

(14,881 posts)The claim that we need to view the video to learn the facts is misleading right from the get-go, and frankly I don't appreciate having my normally laid back temperament needlessly aroused to the level where I very nearly made a phone call I would have later regretted.
I saw 3 dogs either sedated or dead, and at the end of the video a heartbreaking pic of a couple dozen dead dogs in a room. For that I am grateful because I did not watch because I wanted to watch dogs die at all, never mind in agony; I watched because I wanted to learn the facts the video was purported to provide before I took any action.
I can now write responsible and reasonable emails to the governor and mayor requesting an investigation into the allegations and suggesting that they follow Maine's example in handling the dog and cat situation. We have so reduced our homeless dog population that our shelters routinely take in dogs from high kill states for adoption. We did it through enforced licensing, free and low cost neuter/spay clinics, education, proper care and socialization of homeless dogs often placed in foster care with approved caregivers, sponsor programs with local businesses, and advertising. We even have emulated some pioneers with careful oversight of carefully selected dogs fostered and trained with carefully selected prisoners.
