getting them to do that. But it would be a good thing if possible.

(6,436 posts)6. the petitions are presented to potential signatories on the White House sub-page for petitions
called "We the People: Your Voice in Our Government"
The boiler-plate petition language provided reads: "WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO:"
Following that is the actual petition statment - see below:
[div class="excerpt" style="border:1px solid #000000;"]
WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO:
Require Congressmen & Senators to wear logos of their financial backers on their clothing, much like NASCAR drivers do.
I suspect, the idea is that the signers are urging the Obama Administration to push a bill requiring such clothing accessories be worn by Congressmen. It, in reality, is just taking the opportunity to make a more public statement about the power of money in politics. In that sense, it would not be of interest to those consumed with apathy or otherwise unwilling or afraid to make their feelings known. Just the kind of people the plutocrats count on to succeed.
"Please sir, can I have some more....
p-p-p-please"

It's a matter of spreading the meme far and wide. Sure the petitioning doesn't hurt either.
