Federal Agents Don't Need Army Fatigues

If youíre an officer of the law, dress like one. Leave the soldiering to soldiers.

Masked men, clad indistinguishably from soldiers, yanking civilians off the street in the dead of night and throwing them into unmarked cars is the modus operandi of totalitarian regimes ó or the stuff of dystopian fiction.

But thatís now the reality in America. In recent weeks, the Department of Homeland Security has sent hundreds of federal agents into Portland, Ore., to quell protests over racism and police violence.

The Justice Department and the Oregon governor appear to have negotiated a withdrawal of those agents. But Bill Barr, the attorney general, told Congress this week that federal agents would be headed to other cities, including Cleveland, Milwaukee and Detroit. On Monday, the mayors of Chicago, Seattle, Portland, Albuquerque, Washington and Kansas City, Mo., sent a letter to Congress asking for legislation to stop the Trump administration from deploying federal agents to cities without their consent. Federal agents should assist local jurisdictions, if they ask. But, at least in the case of Portland, the conduct of federal officers clearly made a bad situation worse.

Many of those federal agents arenít easily recognizable as law enforcement officials, nor do they act like them. Even the military is concerned about the public confusion sewn into society when heavily armed federal agents dress like soldiers. All the more reason that the federal agents on the streets of American cities be required to wear uniforms that clearly identify themselves and their civilian agency.

3. As Lt. General Honore has said

They are wearing military fatigues whose purpose is to blend into the background. They have not been trained by the military.
They are supposedly acting in the capacity of police but have not been trained by them either. Police arrest and charge people for breaking the law, not beat them up. He also said "this is bullshit!"

5. Cops who used to want to dress up as swat team members have gone even further...

....and now want to go full soldier of fortune, paramilitary cosplay. But it's not just cops, there is a subculture of civilians who have taken their military fantasies out into the street in full battle gear. Look at this web site whose ad came up on the sidebar of this web page as I was reading it. America has a real problem with these clowns.

8. They should enlist if they want to play Army

Most of these cosplayers wouldn't make it in the real military.

6. It's an excellent way to create a param military force that answers only to the president.

Every fascist leader needs one.

7. Wow, the comparison pictures at link are amazing.

You literally canít tell who the good guy with the gun might be. But of course, that is the point.

...and not that I think anyone who isnít deer hunting is a good guy with a gun, just mirroring their talking points for sarcasm sake .
