ASIAN COUPLE ATTACKED BY XENOPHOBE
COVID-19'S 'All Your Fault'

An Asian man was attacked in Seattle by a guy who slapped, shoved and spit on him ... and it was all out of revenge over the coronavirus, and now cops are on the hunt.
As awful as it is, it's actually even worse because cops say the culprit has been threatening Asian residents all over the City.

The man allegedly told the Asian couple "it's all your fault" ... clearly referring to the coronavirus pandemic and the fact it originated in China and the government was hyper-secretive.
Cops say this is the same guy who was harassing Asians at Golden Gardens Park.
In one attack, police say the man approached an Asian woman in her car, knocked on her window, asking, "Where are you from? Where is your ID?" Cops say the man was also taking pictures of the victim's car and yelling, "Chinese disease ... they bring it here!"

(5,640 posts)If any covidiot says anything to her or tries something, I am not sure I could contain myself. I need to keep my cool. Of course, my wife reads these stories and hears from her friends in New York and Boston and she is being very careful and refuses to even go into stores here in Texas.
I am thinking about getting some mace and having her practice with it just in case. I am disgusted with this whole situation and what I am starting to think and become.
Peace.

(13,036 posts)attacks here. There are larger populations of Asians in these cities which are more diverse, and many asian supermarkets, restaurants and businesses. I've also seen lots of people of other races & ethnicities frequent these establishments as well. The Austin area where i am is especially liberal so it's definitely not an issue here. We revel in the cultural diversity and amazing ethnic food scene.

(5,640 posts)My son has experienced discriminatory bullying and harassment. I have been asked why I would marry someone like that...
While I understand your point and agree that Austin is a very liberal area, my experiences have been different. I am not looking for trouble and, like my wife, avoid people's gaze and confrontations. What I am talking about is the simple fact that both myself and my wife will be wearing masks and gloves for the foreseeable future and, while I do not anticipate any trouble, I am not ruling it out as we live in a VERY red area.
As an FYI, here are 2 articles about attacks on Asians in Texas and Houston. There are some other stories that I will try and find links to if you'd like.

(13,036 posts)protect themselves. Houston has a huge population of asians who contribute many millions to the city, state & national coffers. It's highly diverse so i'm surprised to hear about these attacks. Very sad in deed.
