A North Carolina-based Democratic strategist died early Wednesday after she and her husband were stabbed in their home on Monday night, the Raleigh News & Observer reported.
Jamie Kirk Hahn, the 29-year-old founder of the Democratic firm Sky Blue Strategies, was fatally stabbed in her home in northern Raleigh, N.C. Her 27-year-old husband, Nation Hahn, who is also involved in Democratic politics, was stabbed but released from a hospital after being treated for injuries.
Jonathan Broyhill, a friend of the couple, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder. According to the News & Observer, Broyhill previously worked with Jamie Hahn at Sky Blue Strategies.
The firm's website indicates that it's worked on behalf of the North Carolina Democratic Party and the Coalition to Protect All NC Families, the group that led the opposition to the state's constitutional ban on same-sex marriage that passed last year.

Man To Be Charged With Murder In Stabbing Of N.C. Democratic Strategist
A North Carolina man will be charged with murder in the deadly stabbing of a 29-year-old Democratic strategist, the Raleigh, N.C. Police Department confirmed to TPM on Wednesday morning.
After Jamie Kirk Hahn died early Wednesday from injuries related to the Monday night stabbing in her Raleigh home, police said they will withdraw the arrest warrant charging 31-year-old Jonathan Broyhill with attempted murder and will "present probable cause for an arrest warrant charging him with murder." No other suspects are currently being sought.
Police who responded to a 911 call on Monday found Hahn, her husband, Nation Hahn, and Broyhill suffering from stabbing wounds at the Hahns' home in northern Raleigh. Nation Hahn was released from WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh after being treated for injuries. Police said arrest warrants will be served to Broyhill when he is released from WakeMed, where he is undergoing treatment for self-inflicted wounds. Broyhill and Jamie Hahn worked together at Sky Blue Strategies, the Democratic firm she founded.
An additional charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury will remain in place against Broyhill, according to police.

Maybe Broyhill couldn't hide his lifelong obsession with Mrs. Hahn any longer, and snapped when she rejected him in hubby's presence.
