US team to speak to Boston suspects’ parents

Source: AP/Salon

BY LYNN BERRY

MOSCOW (AP) — U.S. investigators traveled to southern Russia on Tuesday to speak to the parents of the two Boston bombing suspects, a U.S. Embassy official said.

The parents of Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev are in Dagestan, a predominantly Muslim province in Russia’s Caucasus, where Islamic militants have waged an insurgency against Russian security sources for years.

The trip by the U.S. team was made possible because of Russian government cooperation with the FBI investigation into the bombing at the Boston Marathon, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not permitted to speak publicly.

The brothers are accused of setting off the bombs that killed three people and wounded more than 180 others on April 15. Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, was killed in a police shootout, while his 19-year-old brother was captured alive but badly wounded.

This saves the parents a trip to the U.S., although they probably still want to come and support their murderous offspring.

So many DUers have already accepted AS FACT that the two brothers acted alone, with no help from anyone. What else is there to investigate? This makes no sense.

It seems as though what I read regarding this story in the mornings ends up changing by the evenings.

they have done this by phone..Or could they have just trusted the Russian govt. with their interview results.. I guess not...

My feelings is that the older brother was way fucked up and looking for excuse to reek havoc on anyone in order to take revenge on his miserable life. He brained washed his
younger brother who loved him too much... The involvement with religion was a sham..

Thats what I feel and I’ve been wrong once or twice before..

Russia would like to connect it to Chechen rebels for their own propaganda purposes.

I read somewhere that they and the younger son got citizenship on the same day.

What was their asylum claim? What changed that the parents now feel safe to go back home?
