FBI: Other Photos Of Suspects ‘Should Not Be Deemed Credible’

Source: TPM

TOM KLUDT 6:05 PM EDT, THURSDAY APRIL 18, 2013

FBI Special Agent Richard DesLauriers said Thursday that the photos of the two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings released by the government "should be the only ones" the public relies on to assist in the investigation.

"The photos and videos are posted for the public and media to use, review, and publicize. For clarity, these images should be the only ones and I emphasize the only ones the public should view to assist us," DesLauriers said. "Other photos should not be deemed credible and they unnecessarily divert the public's attention in the wrong direction and create undue work for vital law enforcement resources."

FBI Urges Public Not To Apprehend Suspects

TOM KLUDT 6:01 PM EDT, THURSDAY APRIL 18, 2013

Describing the two leading suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings as "armed and extremely dangerous," FBI Special Agent Richard DesLauriers said Thursday that no one should try to apprehend the individuals referred to as "suspect one" and "suspect two."

"No one should approach them. No one should attempt to apprehend them except law enforcement," DesLauriers said. "Let me reiterate that caution. Do not take any action on your own. If you see these men, contact law enforcement."

My guess is that you logged in to sync.democraticunderground.com rather than www.democraticunderground.com.

Check your bookmarks or favorites or whatever link you use to log in from.

The thing is that 99.9% of DU users log in via www.DU and all the thread links they post work for each other. When I click your link and then tried to reply there, it sent me to a login page (for sync.DU) while I was logged in to www.DU. This never happens with other thread links.

You can always substitute www for sync if you find yourself on a page with a sync.DU URL or if you post a sync.DU link you can edit it to www.DU.

I never log in or out.

I have a TAB at the top of my computer screen for DU which has this url in it ---> http://www.democraticunderground.com/

So, I just click on the tab everyday and I go where it takes me.

Could it be a DU thing and something that I am not doing?

You tell me if this photo is not the white hat guy (suspect #2) turning corner looking smug. Click picture for larger image:

Initially, a 1200 pixel version was out. That has JPEG compression artifacts which looks PhotoShopped.

I brought it into PS, and zoomed.
You can see a difference in pixels and some sloppy background removal work.

There's no mortar line. Unless there's a small square metal panel in that wall (seems unlikely), that's a half-assed job to simulate the bricks in Photoshop.

Also..

Below is the text he posted on his facebook page...

Friends & Family,
I have been feeling down since the Boston Marathon bombing because I couldn't do anything to help the injured victims...until now. Thanks to my friend Jason who pointed out to me that the photo I took right after the second bomb and posted on FB has suspect #2 in the left hand corner of the photo. White baseball cap turned backwards, black sweatshirt, NO BACKPACK right after the bomb went off. Compare to the ones posted by CNN, it is unmistakable. I spoke to the FBI and it is may be the best photo they have at current time!!! One step closer to taking these @!#?#'s down...share as much as you can so that if someone knows this person they can turn them in.

Then I looked closer and it appeared faked to me.
That is all.
I hope it is real: these people turn my stomach.
