Capitol Police removed what they called a "suspicious letter" from Alabama Sen. Richard Shelby's Washington office today, along with two additional suspicious letters in other parts of the Capitol -- one from a so-far unnamed second senator's office, the other from the atrium of the Hart Senate Office Building.
According to an Associated Press story, Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Terence Gainer said in an email that packages were dropped off at the two offices and the man who delivered at least two of three packages was detained and being questioned.
Several news agencies reported that a man was in custody after officials found he had a backpack filled with sealed envelopes and was delivering them to lawmakers' offices in the Hart Building.
This comes a day after a letter to Mississippi Sen. Roger Wicker tested positive for the poison ricin. According to the FBI, a letter addressed to President Barack Obama has also initially tested positive for ricin.

(84,711 posts)members. So how can a letter show up and packages be delivered when the security is always tight after "9/11" but we know they are on HIGH alert after the Boston Bomings.
This doesn't make any more sense than CNN jumping the gun to say that there was an Arrest of Suspect in Boston.
It's too similar to the Anthrax letters after "9/11" not to be questioned...
