Suspicious duffel bag found at East 55th Street RTA Rapid Station in Cleveland, bomb squad at scene

CLEVELAND - RTA confirms a suspicious duffel bag at the RTA Rapid station located at East 55th Street and Woodland Avenue in Cleveland.
The package was reported around 9:30 a.m. The Cleveland Division of Police Bomb Squad and K9 dogs are at the site investigating.
The area and buildings surrounding the station have been evacuated. The I-490 entrance ramp from East 55th Street is closed.

(26,060 posts)if you lived in either NYC or Boston. If an unattended package being called to the attention of the authorities defines panic to you, I feel very sorry for you.

(4,441 posts)It is the mainstream news reporting of an unattended package which promotes the panic. Certainly it should be reported, but every unattended package does not warrant a national news story or DU late breaking news
Not to mention it was a non-event and the all-clear given.

(4,475 posts)Personally, I would prefer that the cops come check out suspicious unattended packages at my bus stop, even it means that sometimes they turn out to be nothing.
