George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, are now grandparents; daughter Jenna gives birth to Margaret Lau
Source: Dallas Morning News
Just over a week away from the dedication of the George W. Bush Presidential Center, former President George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, received even bigger news: they are now grandparents.
The newest member of the Bush family is Margaret Laura Mila Hager.
The Bushes daughter Jenna Bush Hager wife of Henry Hager gave birth to the child Saturday at 8:43 p.m. in New York City. Mila was named for her grandmothers, the former president said in a statement.
Laura and I are thrilled to announce the birth of our grandchild, George W. Bush said. We met our beautiful granddaughter today. Jenna and Mila are healthy. And our family is elated.

(111,245 posts)The tradition died with my grandfather, though. While I find it rather a nice one, I also have to think of some of the names I dodged.
All I know about the elderly grand aunt whose namesake I am is that she had a screwball sense of humor and everybody loved her. I usually think that's enough. I've never even seen a picture.

(13,180 posts)You can't blame Junior's kids for what he, Cheney, and their Republican cheering squad did to the country. That wouldn't be fair, and the kids and grand-kids I wish all happiness.
But I can't help but think of all the people who won't get to be grandparents thanks to Bush, Cheney, and the Republicans' war in Iraq. Every time Bush or Cheney have a moment of happiness, I hope they and we remember that what they took from others.

I can only hope this child breaks free from the Bush family legacy of greed, evil, and stupidity. There's always hope. Look at Ron Reagan, for example. He didn't become like his father, thank goodness.

(3,596 posts)Did the infant have horns? Just kidding but if the child is raised in that family it will be singularly self-centered and wealthy without any understanding of the lives of ordinary people.
Maybe she will turn out to be a lesbian anarchist!!!
How awesome would that be????
