California decides chemical BPA is toxic

California on Thursday became the latest state to place restrictions on the chemical known as Bisphenol-A and declare it a reproductive toxicant.

The chemical, commonly known as BPA, is found in hard plastic bottles, the cans of food and beverages, sales receipts and dental sealants.

Growing research suggests that BPA, believed to be found in the bodies of 90 percent of the U.S. population, is an endocrine disruptor linked to infertility and other harm.

Consumer health advocates have pushed the state Environmental Protection Agency for years to recognize that BPA causes birth defects.

I don't have any sealants, but my kids sure do!! Holy crap and WTF!

5. Yep walked years ago on dentist who wouldn't let up on trying to put those in

on young kids..acted like we were crazy for not wanting them because you know my in$urance paid for them.. .after 3rd appt I decided we needed a more enlightened dentist
..guess what ?
Still none with cavities!!
Which the dentist had assured us the kids would have without sealants.....

7. suffolk county ny banned it from baby bottles in 2009

And this year banned it from thermal paper receipts. It is everywhere. The FDA should reaaly act.
