Source: Freep.com

Sgt. David Robertson said 11 cars – six southbound and five northbound – slowed down and blocked traffic on the highway near Mack Avenue.

Police wrote careless driving tickets for four cars but the others got away, Robertson said.

Halting highway traffic has been a favored tactic of demonstrators protesting the recent appointment of the city’s emergency manager, Kevyn Orr. ...."

the major roads there because it was the only think they knew that would get attention. I don't blame them for doing it, although I must say I'm glad I don't live there and have to drive home from work through that mess. Passing out tickets won't matter.

It made all the local news. Some peeps didn't like it, but it's not like anyone died from the inconvenience, either.

This sounds like it may work. Did any of the corporate television pick it up?

It appears that there is devastating lack of connections between the city dwellers and the suburban and rural in Michigan to allow this theft to take place - perhaps the rural even profits from the destruction of Detroit. IDK.

The descent of Detroit has been long in the works. I don't see how the rest of Michigan can ignore this in good faith as it's not just about Detroit.

And it is taking down the suburbs with it. Other than an occasional racist asshat, no one from the area is happy about the destruction of Detroit.

It's hard to believe that Sydner has gotten away with all that he has, even in the face of votes. The RTL thing was the last straw, I thought.

Detroit and Michigan became a powerhouse with the auto industry - I think this is all about that. Yet a GOP governor and legilature control the state. Who is voting for this?

Certainly not the people of Detroit or Benton Harbor.
