Source: TPM

BRIAN BEUTLER 5:14 PM EDT, WEDNESDAY APRIL 10, 2013

On a conference call with reporters Wednesday afternoon, House Budget Committee chair Paul Ryan trivialized President Obama's decision to include a provision called Chained CPI, which cuts the growth of Social Security benefits, as a gesture of good will to Republicans in his budget.

"I don't see it as entitlement reform, as much as clarifying a statistic," Ryan said.

Chained CPI is a measure of inflation that grows more slowly than the one Social Security cost of living increases are indext to.

Obama says "lets make SocSec worse off than it is now, as a gesture of goodwill to the other side in a budget proposal.", and the other side says "NO. That's not good enough for the GOP. We want the Saftey Net not gutted, but utterly destroyed on behalf of our Corporate Overlords. Now vote for me becuase you hate the Black President as much as I do."

"Wait, where are you all GOING????"

And they are just dumb enough to fall for it. As Paul Ryan just demonstrated.

He will be financially set for life on the book and speaking circuit for his legions of Ayn Randians, but the bottom line is that he is never going to ever get closer to the oval office than he did with Rmoney. The sooner he fades away the better.
