U.S. Official: North Korea Could Test Fire Missiles At Any Time (have received their liquid fuel)

Source: CNN

(CNN) -- The Obama administration calculates it's likely North Korea may test fire mobile ballistic missiles at any time, based on the most recent intelligence showing Pyongyang probably has completed launch preparations, a U.S. official said Tuesday.

The administration believes a test launch could happen without North Korea issuing a standard notice to commercial aviation and maritime shipping warning them to stay away from the missile's path, according to the official, who declined to be named because of the sensitivity of the information.

Imagery has been impeded by some bad weather, which means there is less than perfect knowledge about what is happening on the ground. But based on what the United States has seen, the belief is that the missiles have received their liquid fuel and are ready for launch.

After any launch, U.S. satellites and radars in the region would be able to calculate the trajectory of missiles within minutes and quickly conclude whether they are on a test path headed for open ocean or potentially headed for land areas such as Japan.

One doesn't 'load them' unless you are going to use them...

There is going to be a launch, indeed.

Japan readies defenses for possible missile test by North Korea

Japan readied its missile defense systems Tuesday against a possible North Korean weapons test, saying it would shoot down any missiles or debris if Japanese territory was threatened.

Patriot anti-missile batteries were deployed on the grounds of the Defense Ministry in Tokyo and at military installations in and around the capital, according to Japanese news reports. The PAC-3 batteries will also be based on the island of Okinawa, which hosts the bulk of U.S. troops in Japan, sooner than planned in response to North Korea's threats, the Asahi Shimbun reported.

Deploying the anti-missile system in Tokyo is “part of our moves to establish a system to protect the lives of our citizens and ensure their safety,” Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said at a news conference, according to Jiji Press.

Suga earlier said that the missiles will be used solely to protect Japan, according to the Japan Times. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has pushed for Japan to reinterpret its constitution, which bans waging war, to allow Japan to intercept missiles fired at United States targets.

Wondering whether they'll use them, or not.

some would go up, then sideways, then auger in. I am seriously hoping something similar happens here.

For a couple of years in the late fifties many of our space rockets blew up on the launch pad. Stand-up comedians made jokes about it.

I remember those years.

Some one here, and other news sites take this threat seriously. Others don't
They adhere to the rhetoric that NK is just blowing hot air, and that it doesn't have the
technology. If they are arranging the equipment, evacuating islands etc. They have the capability.
If they are supplying the required liquids, they have the capability. This is serious.
I don't care if they are crying wolf or not, anything involving nuclear weapons is serious business.
They aren't playing around people....

It's a temporary tantrum. NK tends to speak in hyperbole constantly. If they wanted war, their troops would be at the border right now.
