North Korea warns embassies of conflict risk as missiles move

Source: Reuters

North Korea has asked embassies in Pyongyang that might wish to get staff out if there is a war to submit plans to it by April 10, Britain said on Friday, as it upped the pressure as part of a war of words that has set the Korean peninsula on edge.

Initial reports by Russia's Foreign Ministry and China's Xinhua news agency suggested that North Korea had suggested that embassies should consider closing because of the risk of conflict.

The request came amid a military buildup by the United States in South Korea following the North's warnings that war was inevitable due to U.N. sanctions imposed for a nuclear test and what it terms "hostile" U.S. troop drills with South Korea.

"We believe they have taken this step as part of their continuing rhetoric that the U.S. poses a threat to them," Britain's Foreign Office said in a statement after the reports from Russia and China.

2. There is every possibility that the North Korean leader is mentally unbalanced.

Just sayin'

Closing down the shared economic zone (I believe it may just be one factory) was the thing that really made me wonder if he was nuts. From what I've read, North Korea gets quite a lot of currency from that.

They stopped letting South Korean's in.

I think that's all part of the show because outsiders were saying that NK wasn't serious as long as outsiders were allowed in that factory.

I think this is all part of the show too, though evacuating embassies is typically what happens before or after fighting starts.

So, without essential materials to build with, they are for all intents and purposes closed.

it wouldn't surprise me if they fired a missile at S. Korea and it hit the Russian Embassy in N. Korea.

That would sure piss off the Russians, whom aren't known for their sense of humor, they just might go in and remove little Un themselves if that happened.

They have threatened to nuke all of east asia before.

It seems different this time though because South Korea and the United States have responded to the North's saber rattling. Does the ROK have Intel of what their intentions are?

I just got the official story on whats going on in an email from my ultra rightwing brother..

A "red herring" if their ever was one, N.Korea is a puppet of our best friend China and they are having fun pulling our strings, and Obuma loves a new crisis "look over there" (not at me) John Kerry will diffuse the situation with barrels of cash same as middle east, the new normal.
