Sen. Feinstein blames NRA on gun control

Source: San Francisco Chronicle

Sen. Dianne Feinstein on Wednesday blamed the National Rifle Association and partisan gridlock for blocking her efforts to rein in assault weapons, and she vowed to keep pressing for a full Senate vote on the issue.

"People are afraid that the NRA will come into their state with $5 million - in Arkansas, or North Dakota or Montana - and defeat them," she told reporters, following a far-ranging talk at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco.

Feinstein also promised a renewed fight on global warming, saying she would introduce a bill to slap a $10 fee on carbon dioxide emissions.

"I really hate to say this, but I've spent 40 years in this life, in government," she told Commonwealth Club members gathered at the Hotel Nikko. "To end it and not have secured a world that's capable of sustenance and beauty and wonder for my grandchildren is just a crushing blow.

her silly bill because they knew either 1. their constituents oppose it and/or 2. they don't believe it will ever be able to pass a constitutional challenge based on the 1939 SCOTUS standard of 'in common use for lawful purposes' which was recently reaffirmed in both Miller and McDonald..the NRA is a boogyman..

Bloomberg to be the great Equalizer.
If the NRA is pumping 4 million, pump 5 million.
If the NRA pumps 10 million, pump 20 million

Buy the suckers out.

There never has been a proper interpretation of the 2nd.

and it's coming.

guns and bullets by private citizens shall 100% be gone, and the NRA is sweating bullets as they know the end is proverbially near. It took 200 years to get this point, it will take a few more to get it changed.

And the soundbytes of the NRA are stale and all have been debunked.
No need to even argue any.

BTW-if there is a reclassificiation under the war on terror, the NRA can without a change in the 2nd be named a terror org. and anyone that donates would constitute a terrorist.

bloominidiot has a better chance of passing his wacky soft drink ban or ear bud ban nationwide than having any real effect at all on this issue (outside of NY)..still sort of surprises me that liberals and Democrats support this anti-civil liberties dictator registered independent..amazing..As for reinterpretation by a different scotus..anyone who believes they will see any meaningful shift from the already established limitations imposed on government by the several scotus decisions pertaining to the 2nd just doesn't understand how Scotus works..or is an incurable wishful thinker..so again, this has to be satire or parody..

BTW, those against wellness, should have to pay more for health insurance, though it can be done as a rebate to those who are for wellness.
Why should I pay for someone who doesn't want Clarence to save them from the bridge?

and NO parody, this is 100% REAL.

Thu Apr 4, 2013, 09:20 AM

posting large pix on an anti-gun thread is the #3 technique used by the NRA

(or as Maxwell Smart said "it's the #3 oldest trick in the book&quot

remember, Control beat Kaos 100% of the time and its time to stop the Kaos from guns
and bullets in the hands of the same private citizens that in a million years should not be allowed to have a gun or a bullet in their hand

Because those with brains to be without guns and bullets are the ones who should be the ONLY ones qualified to own a gun and bullet.

(I.E. take the vigilante Paul Blart who became an asssassin- he NEVER should have been allowed to have a gun, as he was not qualified to be a REAL cop.
Yet, he had a LEGAL gun and in cold blood shot dead a man, I guess, don't know, but I guess he thought he was the FICTIONAL character in a Johnny Cash song and wanted to watch a man die.
Now, logic would have stated that if that man, who might have cured cancer in a few years, had had a gun, according to the law, that man actually would have had a right in that state to have used it on Zimmy.
Ain't life strange?

The pacifist packing skittles is shot dead and the other person is the NRA poster person.
WTF is wrong with this world?
Life is topsy turvy in the NRA warped world.

What he doesn't realize is that those gun control ads are backfiring on him, people of those states don't like an authoritarian 1% rich guy like Bloomie coming into their state and telling their Sen. how they should vote.

Here in NV, it's already had a negative impact, Sen. Heller basically told Bloomie to go fuck himself as had several other Sen. in other states.

How about all those politicians in 2004 who voted to End the Orig Feinstein AWB?
I blame Them!

We Have to start peeling back the layers and evaluating on the merits of a particular issue/bill. Their votes are All that matters. It seriously does Not matter if they are a Dem, an Ind, TP, GOP. Their Votes and the consequences to Us is the ONLY criteria we should be looking at. Don't allow them to convince you to stop thinking deeper....After they've given a Standing Ovation speech? Look up their votes to see how full o'crap they are. Don't allow them to shift blame to the other side after they've voted to pass/defeat the same damned bill. Much of what we are faced with today is because of the Dems!
For example: The Repeal of Glass-Steagalll, DOMA, Dropping FCC Regs, NAFTA/CAFTA Etc was All brought to you by Pres Clinton...The consequences of these Political Votes? Has Absolutely Devastated "us".
No more "forgiving bad votes" made by either side simply because they are a Dem or ?. They are Not Stupid. They are calculating with Every move, every speech they make. Don't forget that. They didn't become wealthy powerhouses being "stupid and dumb".

The Importance of the consequences of ALL Laws and WHO they serve are all that matters.
Yes, it's boring and tedious to research the laws they've passed--but it is also our Forgotten responsibility of self governance.

Then either Vote them OUT or work your butt off keeping them in office.

it had a 10 yr. sunset clause and was allowed to expire. GWB said that if a renewal of the AWB made it to his desk, he would sign it, but Sen. Feinstein couldn't muster the votes for renewal.

This time around, she can't even get 40 votes for a new AWB or mag limit, that means that a bunch of Dems are telling her that they're not going to vote for it.

And what I Failed at in making my point is that it was Not Renewed. I apologize. I incorrectly referred to it as a "vote". The Political Learning curve is a bitch...
I hold the 2004 Senate/House Responsible for this political decision to not renew this valuable law.

Thank you for clarifying the procedures under "Sunset Clauses".

And for what it's worth, the 1994 AWB didn't really ban anything except cosmetic features, all the firearms manufacturer's did was remove the bayonet lug, remove the flash suppressor, and rename the rifle.

As far as the hi cap mag ban back then, all that did was ban the importation or manufacture of new mags over 10 rounds for non LE use, you could still buy all the hi cap mags that were still in circulation, which were millions of them.

Pretty much the same thing as Sen. Feinstein's new AWB.
