Colorado gun group leader: ‘There’s a time to hunt deer’ and a ‘time to hunt Democrats’

Source: Raw Story

The founder of a Colorado gun group is looking forward to November’s “hunting season” because it will be “time to hunt Democrats.”

Dudley Brown, who serves as the executive director of Rocky Mountain Gun Owners and the executive vice president of the National Association for Gun Rights, used some violent rhetoric during a Wednesday interview with NPR about how gun owners would deal with Democrats who supported President Barack Obama’s proposal for universal background checks.

“I liken it to the proverbial hunting season,” Brown quipped. “We tell gun owners, ‘There’s a time to hunt deer. And the next election is the time to hunt Democrats.’”

“This is a very Western state with traditional Western values,” he pointed out. “And citizens had to have firearms for self-defense, and right now that’s still the case.”

What in the world can be funnier than a mass assassination? I mean, except for a child massacre?

I'll tell you what would be a real laugh, Dudley Brown looking down a gun barrel to see how fast the bullet comes out.

They believe that anti gun liberals will just take it because they hold the guns and we do not, but they may be wrong. We have learned too that the way to handle a bully is to stand up to them. One of these days they will remember that angry liberals, angry minorities, angry gays, angry women, angry poor, angry blacks, angry latinos also have the right to carry guns...even assault weapons. Still they will say to themselves...naw! But, hey....what if one day thousands arrived at one of their tea party meetings...all openly carrying and marching around them with signs that say things like "Don't tread on me anymore". No one wants to stand up to the school yard bully, but they might be enlightened to learn that they are also fighting for our rights to stand up to them with their own weapons.

And if he feels threatened, he's going to act like the Mark Wahlberg character in the film "Shooter" and start taking out reactionaries using this kind of rhetoric. He will then justify it when he is caught, which he inevitably will be, by saying it was in self-defense, using their idiotic statements as proof that his targets had publicly stated they were going to hunt him down.

How long will our "authorities" continue to ignore these statements as "harmless bluster?"
