Man Broke Jaw of 72-Year-Old Partially Disabled Veteran in Spat over Mask: Police

Police in Spokane, Washington say they caught a man wanted for punching a 72-year-old disabled partially disabled veteran in the face. Cody P. Hansen, 35, was arrested Saturday, cops said according to Q13 Fox.

Officials say that’s him on surveillance footage attacking the victim. The incident happened on July 18, 2020 at the Red Lion Inn and Suites in the city of Kent, officers said. According to authorities over there, the 72-year-old said something to the defendant’s girlfriend about not wearing a mask in the lobby. She had allegedly not been wearing a mask. As seen on video, the suspect (the man identified as Hansen) walked up to an older man who was sitting down, and had a cane.

The suspect stood for a beat by the older man, and punched him in the face four times. The victim apparently tried once to strike the attacker with a cane, but ended the video slumped over in his chair while the suspect walked away.

Police said this assault left the older man unconscious, with a broken jaw, and a corneal abrasion. Hansen allegedly left the hotel, and his girlfriend picked him up. He was charged in King County with second-degree assault resulting in serious bodily harm, and there was a warrant out for his arrest. it turned out he faced another warrant in Alaska for a probation violation- and drug-related case.

I always had a natural talent for arm wrestling, beating guys who were far more muscular than me.

One of my friends was fascinated by it and sought out big guys to take me on, something that I didn't do because I knew it would stir up trouble eventually.

I regularly exercised back then, and my muscles were rock-hard, but I still never came close to a "body builder" physique and that was never my goal anyway.

So I was with that "friend" at a bar years ago (going to bars is something else that I stopped doing long ago) and he found a challenger for me. I knew nothing about it until the big muscular guy was next to me, acting upset that I dared to arm wrestle him. I told the stranger that I never even saw him, nor did I desire to arm wrestle anyone! Then I noticed my "friend" was behind him, with a proud smirk in his face. There was also a tiny blonde girl nearby who kept encouraging it.

The hulking guy demanded that we arm wrestle, and it finally happened. I probably should have just lost intentionally, but I was irritated by that time and beat the guy. Then we did it again, and I beat him again. He mostly looked shocked each time, like something supernatural just happened.

It turned out that the little blonde girl was his girlfriend, and she was more upset than her muscular boyfriend. She demanded that he beat me to a bloody pulp immediately, or she was going to dump him! He said to me, "Well, I guess we have to fight now. Let's go."

I replied that I wasn't going to fight anyone, and pointed out that I tried to avoid arm wrestling him too! And if he put one hand on me, he can also plan on going to jail for assault!

Yadda, yadda, yadda. It went on like that for about five minutes, but eventually the big guy just sheepishly walked away. Meanwhile his little girlfriend was still harping at him to fight me. I could still hear her yelling at him as they crossed to the far side of the bar!

She was far more violent and dangerous than her big boyfriend! Good grief, what a terrible girl!

I snuck out of there with my "friend" soon thereafter, and told him that he better NEVER do that to me again! He kept a proud smirk for a little while despite my warnings, but then looked more alarmed when I made it more clear what I'd do to him if it ever happened again.

We weren't "friends" much longer after that night.

I also found out that I still "got it" at a recent job. Saw some coworkers arm wrestling at the end of the shift (our shift shut down the place for the weekend) and asked the young weight-lifter in the group if he'd like to do it? I told him that I "used to be pretty good" at it, so don't feel bad if I beat him. But I really had no idea how it would turn out since I don't exercise my upper body much like I did 30+ years ago. Plus that young guy was a nice kid who didn't seek out conflict. I barely beat him! And of course that resulted in the other employees howling with surprise. The young guy took it well and there were no problems.

Edit: The secret is my long chimpanzee arms. Lol.
