Colorado DA orders investigation into Aurora police over stolen vehicle mix-up

Colorado's district attorney is launching an investigation into an incident in which Aurora police drew their guns on a Black woman and four minors after mistaking her car for one that had been stolen.

DA George Brauchler said in a statement on Friday that he has ordered his office to obtain and review all evidence related to the incident.

On August 2, Brittney Gilliam was taking her 6-year-old daughter, 12-year-old sister and 14- and 17-year-old nieces to get their nails done. They were in the parking lot when Aurora police ordered them out of the car and on the ground at gunpoint during a stolen vehicle mix-up. Gilliam said she, her sister and 17-year-old niece were handcuffed while police verified that the car she was driving was not stolen.

"Public accounts of the incident in a parking lot near Iliff and Buckley are very concerning," said Brauchler in the statement. "If our investigation determines that the officers involved committed a crime, I will not hesitate to file charges and prosecute them."

its on the same level as "you match the description of a suspect" or "you were weaving in your lane" when cops wrongfully arrest and harass black people.
if they are challenged they pull one of these "justifications".

Cuff them and indict them. What they did to that family goes far beyond just "crime."

City Councils are gonna get tired of paying out millions and millions every year for their Police Dept's horrible actions.
The cop's racism in most cities is systemic, I don't know how these mayors allow it.

to get their members inbedded in police forces all over the country.

It's going to take effort and relentless investigation to weed them out.

Biden ought to declare it a "National Security Emergency" and direct his DOJ to use anti-terrorism authority to capture and review social media and cellphone data/texts for every Police Officer and Sheriff in the country.

Remove those with white supremacists connections.

If we have to send armed troops to rural America, so be it. We've been shown it's legal.

Why should BLM protesters be the only ones to know what tear gas tastes like?

See, I hate that Retrumplicans have turned me into the type of American that wants vengeance to rain down on these Dipshits, but the way I look at it, the Retrumplicans had ample opportunity to stop me from going down this road, and they failed.

What happens from here on out is on them.
