President Donald Trump is on the ropes -- down in the polls, facing scathing criticism of his handling of the coronavirus crisis and a shakeup of his campaign staff, all less than 100 days until Election Day.
Also largely gone are the seemingly endless string of massive rallies that buoyed his candidacy in 2016 and propelled him from outsider to front-runner.
But the Trump team sees an opening, plowing forward with front-line campaigning in key states as Joe Biden appears content to stay on the sidelines and hold small press events.
...snip...
The Trump approach couldn't be more different. Last weekend alone, as part of the Trump campaign's "100 Days Out Weekend," the Trump team held at least 70 events ranging from veteran outreach to voter registration drives from Mohave County, Arizona, to Madison, Maine, according to the Republican Party's public schedule.

(24,395 posts)while Biden continues to build a substantial lead in the polls. Im waiting for Biden to get a 30% lead in the polls, at which point some writer will tell us that Biden fell into tRumps masterful trap, and that hes right where tRump wants him.
Honestly, these hacks think were all stupid.

(86,515 posts)What a crock! It's the idiots on parade who need to figure out how to keep even their base at this point. Biden is actually preparing to take the wheel asap, we already know who to vote for. This is just another grift and ABC is assisting.
They could have been less biased in presenting this information as they appear to favor the chump in this piece.

(391 posts)There are very valid points being made, Trump's team knows how to be sneaky and play the game. We underestimated them in 2016 and we can't do it again. I'm not saying Biden needs to be out there shaking hands but they need to be more vocal, more exposed. Right now it's Trump 24/7 on most news shows, yes it's a lot of negative but remember the old saying "any press is good press". Biden and his people need to take away air time from Trump, trust me people aren't going to forget what a loser he is if CNN devotes 15 minutes of the hour less to him and more to Biden.

(3,148 posts)Bogus polls showing Biden up by 30 percent *by* the Trump team, so as to lull the laziest (or most overworked) 10 percent of Democrats into not bother to vote; it's what I'd di if I were them.
The MAGA folks *will* be out and voting, thinking 'we have this in the bag' will kill snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Never, ever underestimate your opponent, those who do deserve to lose.

(3,166 posts)That its 100 days till the election, or any day count like that. As of today, its 94 days till the election, but some states start early voting 45 days before the election. The first votes will actually be cast in mid-September, about 48 days from today!
