Judge extends temporary restraining order against Mary Trump

Source: The Hill

A New York judge has extended a temporary restraining order against Mary Trump until Monday, a day before the release of her tell-all book about her uncle, President Trump, and his family.

Judge Hal Greenwald of Dutchess County Supreme Court on Friday extended the order, which was set to expire on Friday, until July 13 and rescheduled a court hearing on the matter to the same day.

Robert Trump, the president’s brother, has sought legal action to prevent Mary Trump from publishing the book, which he claims violates a nondisclosure agreement she signed along with other members of the Trump family.

The development does not put off the publication of the book, which publisher Simon & Schuster has set for Tuesday, but it will prevent Mary Trump from promoting the work at least through Monday.

You're too late, dude. The book is out there in the world. We've already heard all the details of your dysfunctional family. In fact, all Dr. Trump's book has done is confirm the shit we already know about your sick crew.

Why are you wasting your money and time on a fool's errand? Is your brother promising you something? Since everything in your family seems to be transactional, what's the deal here?

Meanwhile, you're as much a fool as your brother.

All Robert Trump is doing by trying to suppress the book is stoking more interest. I can’t think of better PR for the book and worse PR for Donald Trump than for them to continue their fight to suppress the book. And it’s too late anyway!!

Who knows how many copies are in the hands of journalists right now? No doubt Simon and Schuster will appeal the ruling and simultaneously release the book regardless of what this judge says. Prior restraint is unconstitutional

It will not stop release of the book. This is not about Simon & Schuster. They are not involved at all. It's about muzzling Mary Trump.

All this does is prevent her from personally promoting her book. The book and its content are already out there. Others can promote it.
