(12,498 posts)she probably doesn't like a bunch or republican morons trying to overthrow her authority so that they can kill more Kansas citizens to satisfy Trump's blood lust.

(34,095 posts)She is smart. She is willing to work with anyone but she is not going to sell out. I have seen her work for a number of years now and I have full confidence that she will come through this well for Kansas. She is a master at give a little and end up with a lot.
Also, Susan Wagle is gone now as she is running for Robert's senate seat. She has been a major pain in the ass of this state.
Waiting to see how this turns out. They are going to be really really mad that she is calling them back but they should have known she would the way they acted the other day.

(6,928 posts)Then would work as a US Senator to strip the ACA it from the poorest of the poor and for that matter everyone else. Ok...I'll say it, I wouldn't have cared a bit if Wagle would have died from cancer.

(6,928 posts)Our hot spots now are counties in western Kansas with packing plants. That piece of SHIT Susan Wagle--State Senator running for the empty US Senate seat has been calling her a dictator for closing down the State and doing slow phase in's for re-opening which I still think are two fast.
So since it was a success Republican law makers can't stand it and they want to basically strip her of the same power that Governors in the past have had--including a load of Republican Gov. Gawd how I hate those fuckers.............

(2,710 posts)From conservatives as well as liberals. Doctors too.
NPR interviewed a pediatrician who spoke out strongly shortly after Dr. Fauci appeared most recently before Congress and appeared to be arguing against schools reopening. His point was that developmentally children need to be with other children, and that they were getting very seriously depressed. (Within days of that interview, my pastor had to counsel a child and family where the child had tried to commit suicide.) Others are in desperate circumstances, not just kids. And a lot of the economic devastation is falling on communities of color disproportionately.
A thought-provoking recent OP-Ed piece piece by NYT conservative columnist Bret Stephens, "In This Election, It's the Remote Against the Exposed" gave me pause. He thinks Trump might just win again in spite of everything. (He is NOT advocating for Trump, just warning about some plausible trends.)

Conservatives are angry with Gov. Laura Kelly's order to close all of the state's K-12 school buildings for the rest of the spring semester. They view it both as an overreaction that is fueling panic and a sign that she's willing to have state government move aggressively into people's businesses and lives.
Some of her most conservative critics also suggested that Kelly's bold action on the coronavirus suggests that she might go after firearms and try to limit their sale....
