Coronavirus: All Non-Essential Shops To Reopen From June 15- PM

Source: BBC News

All non-essential retailers will be able to reopen in England from 15 June, Boris Johnson has announced, as part of plans to further ease the lockdown.

However, the move is "contingent on progress in the fight against coronavirus", and retailers will have to adhere to new guidelines to protect shoppers and workers, the PM added.

Outdoor markets and car showrooms will be able to reopen from 1 June. It comes as the number of coronavirus deaths in the UK rose by 121 to 36,914. Mr Johnson said new guidance had been published for the retail sector "detailing the measures they should take to meet the necessary social distancing and hygiene standards".

"Shops now have the time to implement this guidance before they reopen," he said. "This will ensure there can be no doubt about what steps they should take."...

of London, Dave leaned over and asked him quietly, 'Do you cut your own hair?' The awkward, silly smile from BoJo was priceless.

(around me, anyway). Government advice is to wear them on public transport; I have no idea how many passengers are. There doesn't appear to have been anything new announced about masks; unless something more than "advice" appears, I suspect we are about to have a lot of more crowded shops with maskless customers, and the infection rate will rise again.

Trump and the GOP and Trump's fake government officials. Both have contradicted expert advice and exacerbated the situation in manifestly irresponsible if not arrogantly malicious ways. Both are in denial about how dangerous and pervasive this situation is. Both have shown remarkable insensitivity to the deaths, and to the social damage, we are experiencing daily. Boris and Donald, along with their respective supporters and enablers in government seem incredibly incompetent to deal with such a serious, enormous, and sustained crisis. Despite their knowing contempt, they seem unaware just how dangerous their indifference is to themselves beyond any political consequences.

Both are so clearly following Putin's plans, as seen previously in Ukraine and elsewhere, it is impossible to consider that he doesn't advise them directly.
