Bomb cyclone to blast East Coast before polar vortex uncorks tremendous cold late this week

Unforgiving cold has punished the eastern third of the United States for the past 10 days. But the most severe winter weather yet will assault the area late this week.

First, a monster storm will hammer coastal locations from Georgia to Maine with ice and snow. By Thursday, the exploding storm will, in many ways, resemble a winter hurricane, battering easternmost New England with potentially damaging winds in addition to blinding snow.

Forecasters are expecting the storm to become a so-called bomb cyclone because its pressure is predicted to fall so fast, an indicator of explosive strengthening. The storm could rank as the most intense over the waters east of New England in decades at this time of year. While blizzard conditions could paste some coastal areas, the most extreme conditions will remain well out over the ocean.

And in Southern California, it's looking like we're entering another drought. (edit) Very, very little snow and rain.
Above average temps all winter. Some record breaking (80-90's).

While our weather slips out of control.
Not only is trump evil, he is dangerous on a level beyond any dictator in the history of our planet.

climate change is bringing dangerous weather. I know what you mean. Just watch out using the term “weather” around deniers.

High winds we're used to this year.

Temps dropping to 0 will be a pain, but that's only a couple of days.

Less than 1/4 inch of rain in 6 MONTHS! Allergies, insects, etc are all unusual and are the results of the climate changing. So much work had gone into the Paris Agreement and the fucking moron killed it in a week. I am glad other countries and some states are being rational and proceeding without him.

That was my first thought yesterday when I saw the weather map. Of course HBO was doing a Game of Thrones daily marathon last week, and season 6 and seven were on Sunday. So I still have visions of dire wolves, dragons and white walkers.

Now I am in FL, and know all about hurricanes, been here since the 80's.

But when I saw that weather map and, yeah, I know, it's not hurricane season, it's winter. But that is a hurricane. Call it a winter low pressure system of sub tropical cyclone, whatever. Don't care, a rose by another name is still a rose.

So has the Stark words go, "Winter is Coming." Man, winter is here and we got a Zombie Hurricane named Grayson. Crazy!

above average. The freaky warm moist air is what pushes arctic air down into lower 48. These reports always seem to leave out this vital piece of information.
