House Prepares to Leave for Recess Without Health Care Deal

Source: NBC NEWS

The House of Representatives is set to leave town Thursday morning for a two-week break without reaching an agreement on health care. It's another blow to Republicans and the Trump administration who had worked this week to revive the failed effort to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare.

After Republicans failed to garner enough votes nearly two weeks ago to pass the American Health Care Act, some Republicans instrumental in the bill's failure — especially the conservatives — expressed renewed motivation to find a way to reach consensus with their more moderate counterparts.

The Trump administration in recent days has led discussions among the disparate groups in an attempt to reach a Republican compromise. But those talks went nowhere when an agreement could not be reached on a few issues and a late-night meeting with Vice President Mike pence and representatives of the relative factions of House Republicans Tuesday failed to move the effort forward.

Congress will return from recess with a crowded agenda that starts with the need to pass a funding measure to prevent a government shutdown. They'll also have to consider a debt ceiling increase and would like to also tackle tax reform.

They are there to rake in the cash for themselves and the other 1%ers and that's all they care about. They will occasionally do something they've promised to their base, but only if it benefits them first of all or hurts others that aren't "their kind".

When she took the gavel, one of the first things she did as the new Speaker of the House was decree that the House work week would start on Monday morning and continue till Friday afternoon. She thought we taxpayers deserved a full work week from our representatives. And the CONS yowled and sniveled and complained, and tried to begrudge her the private jet that was assigned to Speakers of the House to fly from DC to their home districts. Thought it was terrible. She WAS Speaker of the House. As such she was TWO HEARTBEATS AWAY from the Presidency. Next in line after the Vice President. That's just who the Speaker of the House is. And there are perks and security measures taken for ALL Speakers of the House.

But these assholes dared to try to deny her those privileges that HER JOB provided - AS Speaker of the House.

But by Jove they worked, and we got some of our money's worth from these lazy entitled - and thoroughly sexist schmucks.
