California Lawmakers Block Bill To Regulate E-Cigarettes

Source: CBS Los Angeles

SACRAMENTO (AP) — A legislative panel has opted not to take up a bill aimed at curbing youth smoking by regulating e-cigarettes in California after a heated hearing.

A separate measure calling for the legal smoking age to be raised to 21 was pulled from the agenda just before Wednesday’s hearing by the Committee on Governmental Organization.

Committee members first amended the e-cigarette bill by Sen. Mark Leno of San Francisco, gutting its proposal to regulate electronic cigarettes as tobacco products. That prompted the Democrat to urge a no vote on his own bill.

I finally kicked the analogs completely and am now doing the straight vape. Lived 7 months in a non smoking building, it was awesome.

Good luck to you.

I smoked for 26 years, up to two packs a day the last five or so. Tried Wellbutrin, Chantix, patches, gum, even hypnosis. None of that worked. Started vaping on Jan 28, smoked my last cig on Jan 29.

This was not a "victory for tobacco companies". It was a victory for ex smokers who want to stay off cigarettes and live a healthier life.

I am now saving $50 per month on my insurance at work because I don't smoke and I feel better. My coughing and wheezing went away after the first week.

If Democrats are successful in banning vaping or making it prohibitively expensive, it will drive away millions of voters.

Many are changing their wording from 'tobacco use' to 'nicotine product use' so that vape users are still penalized.

Their entire argument seems to be that it is bad because e-cigs LOOK like regular cigarettes.

Which is supposedly a problem in that it will encourage children to smoke.

But smoking MJ is ok?? Like I said - I'm baffled...

Note most democrats who push anti-vaping hysteria represent rich metro areas like San Francisco, New York and Chicago.

The thing that does it for me is the flavors, synthetic tobacco, caramel and vanilla. I'm down to almost zero nicotine in my juice. Once I got off all the chemicals they put in those cigarettes, the nic was really easy to cut back on. The bad part about it is the flavors are what these assholes want to ban so badly.
