We should be calling Harry Reid's office

Segami suggests Reid put a rider on any aid bill to Texas to include background checks on guns. The senators and reps in Texas voted against aid for Sandy Hook. Time for Reid to play hardball with them. We can help by calling our reps and senators and Reid's office too. Let them know we are paying attention. And we don't forget.

I would never consider such a thing if these Texas senators and reps had not voted down aid to New Jersey. They do this crap all the time, yet they have no shame over insisting others treat them differently.

are guilty of this. I want them both to stop, and I want those tools in DC to start working for people instead of special interests. If not, I want them voted out. both the Dems and the Pugs.

I am not sure very many people here will appreciate such a statement given the context. Republicans refused to vote for aid to Sandy Hook victims of one of the worst hurricanes to hit the east coast. The Texans led the way in denying aid at Christmastime in the dead of winter no less.

The Texas delegation now comes demanding help not with their hats in hand with some newfound humility, but with a sense of entitlement.

I am of the opinion we help people in this country when bad things happen. So are most Democrats. I do not recall a single instance where a Democrat refused to aid victims of a disaster in America. That is a Republican characteristic, so suggesting the parties are both the same on this issue is a crock.

Again, let the Texan delegation and the rest of the gun lovers in Congress choose between aid for their constituents and background checks for gun sales.

It is a violation of the SOP to say you are not working for the goals of this group. Why did you join a Democrat activist group on DU? You really should be banned from this group. I suspect the only reason you aren't is that the group has no host to kick you out.

What I should have said was that I thought people in this group supported Democrats. Aside from Bernie Sanders there are no others.
