I <3 Pete Seeger.

This boomer has had a crush on 93- year- old Pete Seeger dating back to his Weaver days. He has long been a hero of mine, and I've never been more impressed than I am right now after reading this! What a treasure this man is.

Mr. Seeger, you are inspiring. Thank you for all you've done and are doing.

The Seeger family has long been a friend of mine, and I can tell you that Pete is THE most humble person that I have ever, in my 58 years known. He never seeks recognition for his accomplishments. He's very approachable. He's just one of us.

As long as I have known, when Pete is on the bill with other musicians, he ALWAYS does not want to be the headliner. He prefers that everyone's name be in the same size and typeface.

I just got done volunteering for the Clearwater Hudson River Revival for the 32nd time, this past weekend. It was a wonderful festival.
I did see Seeger perform, and I can tell you that, even at 93, he can still wow the audience. Everyone was singing along with him!

Seeger is the best role model for all of us.
One time, in the dead of winter there was a union rally near me. I was thinking that it's so cold, I don't think I want to go. Pete was going, so I thought that if he can be part of this rally at his age (I think he was 89) so can I.

Here in the Hudson Valley, there are a lot of us who consider the Seegers out grandparents. They are the grandparents, and probably great-grandparents of many of us in the activist community here.

I can't say enough, and I have many stories of my experience over the more than 30 years that I have been part of this "tribe."
