100 degrees in L.A. near the coast on October 23rd.

It's not unusual to get hot Santa Ana weather in the fall, but 100? Sheese!
And I don't think it's done yet. It's not the peak of the day, and tomorrow is supposed to be warmer

she's in LA for grad school and is not made for dry heat - she's PNW born-and-raised. it doesn't help that she refuses to wear a hat.

Will actually have to turn on the heat tonight.
"Turning on the heat" is one of those Southern rituals which marks the change from summer to serious fall weather.
We always note the date, and have conversations about when that day arrived compared to last year.
