Nelson Rosario's Dad in Puerto Rico wants him to share one fact.

'My dad lives on the island. I shared the President's response with him this morning. He wanted me to share one anecdote in response.

For context, my dad is helping with rebuilding right now, and has friends in the govt, elected and appointed, on the island.

After I told him what the President said he went quiet and said "Wow." A second later he says "I'm gonna share one detail with you. One.

"There's a medical center down here, and everyone that was in the Intensive Care Unit, died. Everyone. That's just one detail."'

This will be worse than Bush's Katrina fiasco. There was eventually the evidence that local, state, and federal government officials (both Dem and Repub) screwed up. This is different. He will have blood on his hands alone.

CNN reported that a Puerto Rican woman's husband was ill, no one could communicate, and he eventually died. Still unable to communicate she buried him herself after his body began to decompose. There are a lot more like her.

I have posted the following paragraphs on Facebook. If you want to do the same, please feel free to use. If enough people call and write, perhaps we can get a campaign started to use the $10 billion for Puerto Rico—a far better use than a stupid border wall.

The Republican budget includes $10 billion to start building another part of a wall on the border with Mexico. Very few people believe that such a wall is needed or will even be effective. In addition, it will cause huge environmental damage, especially to migrating animals whose habitat will be destroyed, along with destroying many border businesses and costing jobs throughout the U.S. for companies that supply those businesses. Some U.S. citizens may be forced to give up their homes or live on the Mexican side of the wall because of the terrain where the wall would be built.

Meanwhile, Hurricane Maria virtually destoyed the entire island of Puerto Rico, and people there need help. If you agree that the $10 billion would be better spent helping the U.S. citizens of Puerto Rico rebuild their infrastructure, call and write your member of Congress and ask them to dedicate that money to rebuilding Puerto Rico.
