here can't be bothered to type out a full word or name.

Sometimes putting the abbreviation into Google will help. Sometimes the abbreviation has more than one meaning, but you can usually figure out which one applies.

Over time you'll learn most of them.

YMMV means "your mileage may vary." If someone tells you "bless your heart", you are not being complimented in any way, lol.

Otoh (on the other hand), if Skittles schedules you for an ass-kicking, that IS a compliment.

You'll catch on lol. Stay away from threads on fried chicken, pit bulls, or circumcision.
