In 9th grade, I airbrushed a t-shirt with "Jimi Hendrix Star Spangled Banner". I wore that shirt nearly every day.

I have loved Hendrix since I first heard him. I've collected a fair amount of his music. But I love YouTube's films.

The Star Spangled Banner was last, and the cops got pissed because they
thought he was dissing our country. So they turned on the lights and shut
the concert down. (To the best of my recollection)

"The bombs bursting in air..."

To so many Americans, to many people around the world. rockets and bombs are what this country is all about.

I saw him at winterland in San Francisco in 1968. I was too young to appreciate what I was experiencing. The light show was great. Sat on the steps and didn't tell my parents where I was going. Had to be less than forthright about where I was going in order to watch the Woodstock movie too. Such talent lost too young.
Thanks for sharing.
