Joe Scarborough - Morning Joe - "My party is going to straight to Hell!"

I woke up this morning, turned on the TV and it was still on MSNBC. It was just at the beginning of Joe Scarborough's righteous rant and it shocked me that even he is saying this at the top of his voice! Wow!

I don't normally watch this but maybe I should. Scathing about the NATO visit and T's failure to to participate in even the appearance of mutual support. Noted his obsequiousness to the Saudis. A few minutes later he went into the most righteous rant about the GOP (Mulvaney esp.) lying about the impact of the budget, the incredible tax and estate benefits to the super-wealthy (esp. the Waltons). The cuts to Medicaid injuring the "poorest of the poor" and saying over and over that the GOP was lying! He said if this is what you intend to do, embrace it! Don't lie about it! Stop lying!

Maybe I should watch Morning Joe after all!

I could've thought I was watching/listening to Bernie Sanders except I think that Joe was even more angry.

What a wake-up moment this AM.

They did this. They own this.

Rich Democrats have values that cause them to shy away from trying to deform government. Why should we copy anarchists? What we need to do is identify and field the brilliant people that we have queuing up to run for office and stop beating the hell out of them when we disagree with a mere 10% of their policy proposals. We need to accept that a Democrst from a deep red state will not see things like a Democrat from a deep blue state, but accept that both have the very same core values about protecting the vulnerable, elderly and well thought out military spending that doesn't just throw money around. We need to field ethical candidates who clearly articulate their policy proposals and campaigns hard, hitting every region of the area that wil vote for them.

But, we need to accept that both had baggage, much of it completely unearned. When we evaluate out candidates in the primary, we need to pay attention to whether a guy has a problem keeping his pants up, or the politician has lied about something in his or her past or tends to try to keep secrets.

Republicans will NEVER be able to elect another completely gross and incompetent person like Trump, but I am afraid that we will never to elect a competent and effective person like Bill Clinton, who had allegations of sexual predation hanging over his head when he ran. No one can be perfect, but the people that we field need to not have difficult skeletons in their closets.

He's on Morning Joe. Needs to go back into the hole he crawled out of and basically giving 45 a pass. Not that I'm surprised.

Also, he's talking about military service and people valuing it. He's got some balls. End of rant.

and now the GOP won't be able to "save" enough cash for the tax cuts and defense spending that they yearn for.
Joe kept slipping in the digs against the Democrats, including the Trump was a Democrat story. No one is going to believe that the Presidential candidate of the most RW Republican party since Harding and Coolidge ever favored keeping medicare, medicaid, and social security intact. Joe just needs to look at his actions and his budget.
Trump is trying to increase defense spending, like every Republican does, He is even working to chase away our NATO allies so that we can fund everything.
