Can anyone from Texas help me out?

I want to understand what a "Texas Gentleman" is and what or who they are supposed to be.

When a high ranking elected state official calls the democratic candidate a cunt, and even the current governor is offended, how does that comport with the pride that Texas has over its manners and behavior?

In all matters. There's things you don't talk about in public. Things you don't talk about with friends. And when possible you put the best face possible on things.

This guy, OTOH, is just common trash.

They don't need to raise their voice or dirty their hands. Someone else will do anything unpleasant, and there will be no blowback of any kind.

Almost always white, always privileged, usually male, and not easily challenged no matter what they do.

He's a shifty, brain-dead, rodeo-riding, piece-of-filth crook that nobody respects, not even Texas republicans. He got into office the same way other asshole politicians do in Texas: ignorant, straight-republican voting, mainly from rural areas of the state.

You might as well try to portray Trump as a "New York gentleman." That's how bad Sid Miller is.

And I can't help you with that "Texas Gentleman" term you're waving around, trying to stir up an altercation. Growing up in Texas, my parents and grandparents (my grandfather, especially), instructed me on being a "gentleman" without any regional chest-thumping involved. A few of the rules have changed with time, and God knows I often fall sort of the behavioral mark. But I still cherish the lessons, and the individuals who delivered them.

Nothing truly Texan or truly gentlemanly about him. Had ethics problems. Tried scamming the Texas tax payer for his personal bill. One of those post brietbart pictures people. Need I say more?
