Armed Robber Has Shotgun Snatched by Unassuming Superhero

A humble pedestrian was strolling down Burgundy St. in New Orleans last Saturday around 5 AM, when he was suddenly approached by a shotgun-wielding robber who demanded he hand over his money. What happened next was pure Hollywood.

In seconds, the mild-mannered victim transformed into an ass-kicking punisher, quickly disarming the gunman and chasing him down the street.

Moments later the victim was approached by two black males in a black four door sedan (possibly a Honda Accord). The driver of the vehicle said to the victim "give me my gun back and I'll give you your phone that you dropped". The victim then used the shotgun to strike the rear windshield of the vehicle causing it to break. The two subjects then fled on Frenchmen to St. Claude and then unknown.

The New Orleans Police Department says a similar incident occurred last Friday around midnight. Though the victim in that instance did not go all Death Wish on the perps, he did manage to escape without giving them any money.

The best way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun...which he snatched out of said bad guy's hands seconds before the bad guy (but not very smart guy) pissed his pants and ran into the night.

He was told the cocking sound would be enough and then he was too close, like he could miss with a shotgun. Plus, he messed with the wrong guy.

of stores in this area and this actually happened to a co-worker.
He was confronted by a pistol, he simply slapped the pistol hand to the side and punched the guy in the face.
Knocked him out.
Cops show up, get robber and pistol, worker goes on with his route.
This guy was 60 years old.

When he told me that I just said "you are SUPERMAN"!
Pretty cool guy. and my hero.

pulling the gun away from the mugger could have easily pulled the trigger without the mugger doing anything. I'm guessing the victim saw that the guy's finger wasn't on the trigger, and knew he could 'safetly' do it. Regardless, somebody messed with the wrong dude.

That would be the safest way to take it away.
