be treated with kindness, not judged or condemned, especially by those who are not themselves without sin--and, by the way, also requiring the well off to be generous toward the poor. Broussard should attend to his own glass house.

(BTW, I am not religious--but I do get tired of the mouthy religious types who are so ignorant about what their own religion's central figure actually required of his followers.)

10 The Law was written for people who are sexual perverts or who live as homosexuals or are kidnappers or liars or won’t tell the truth in court. It is for anything else that opposes the correct teaching.

If you mean those who proclaim homosexuality wrong the loudest are secretly gay, then are KKK assholes secretly black?

time for being gay ended up being gay themselves. I can think of 5 kids from High school that gave me the hardest time and all came out at later dates than I did.

Broussard pretty much signed his pink slip with those comments...

I hope so -- It's not a sportscaster's job to provide color commentary about who's holier than thou! And Broussard ought to reconsider saying "the Bible says you know them by their fruits" -- that cuts BOTH ways.

Is that bible quotation relevant to homosexuality, or did he just want to take the opportunity to call Jason Collins a fruit?

I'm suspecting the latter.

Other translations of the Bible have the verse as "by their works, ye shall know them" -- that is, in order to really understand a person, you should study his beliefs or actions. Broussard is saying that Collins is unworthy as both a person and a Christian because he "believes in" homosexuality. But Broussard doesn't realize that he's also saying that he himself is qualified to decide how worthy a Christian you are.

When you point a finger at someone, you point three fingers at yourself.

it has no place on TV outside the 700 Club and all those other religious channels on TV. If you're an announcer for ESPN, you shouldn't be bringing your personal, religious beliefs into the conversation because it's obvious that Collins and Broussard were raised to believe in a different type of God.
