The pol ad allowed to run when Pres. Obama came to Dallas was as tasteless as the one when JFK visit
I am old enough to remember the hostile full-page advertisement paid for by the American Fact-Finding Committee that appeared in The Dallas Morning News on Nov. 22, 1963, hinting that President Kennedy was a Communist.
I was stunned to see that nearly 50 years later history repeated itself when President Obama visited Dallas for the dedication of the Bush Library. A similar ad attacking our current chief executive appeared Thursday in your paper on page 22A.
The notion that President Obama is a Marxist is patently absurd to any intelligent person. How The News could allow such a baseless accusation to be made on one of its pages, especially in light of the embarrassing ad it ran 50 years ago, is beyond my comprehension.
I would also like to add that the term death tax, to which the ad refers, is a misleading term. Estate or inheritance tax applies only to estates worth more than $5 million, which means that the vast majority of Americans will be unaffected by it.
