Judges Plead Guilty in Scheme to Jail Youths for Profit

At worst, Hillary Transue thought she might get a stern lecture when she appeared before a judge for building a spoof MySpace page mocking the assistant principal at her high school in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. She was a stellar student who had never been in trouble, and the page stated clearly at the bottom that it was just a joke.

Instead, the judge sentenced her to three months at a juvenile detention center on a charge of harassment.

She was handcuffed and taken away as her stunned parents stood by.

“I felt like I had been thrown into some surreal sort of nightmare,” said Hillary, 17, who was sentenced in 2007. “All I wanted to know was how this could be fair and why the judge would do such a thing.”

7 years? That's it, this judge should get a minimum of 20 years. She has destroyed people's lives. The Judge and the people in charge of those two companies should never been heard from again and should be black listed to the point were they will never do anything more than flip burgers again. This is possibly the worst thing I've ever heard a judge do.

A strong message has to be sent to each and every one of the unprosecuted judges who have done this and to those who might contemptate doing this in the future.

that makes me turn away from my views on the Death Penalty and start to think that a good hanging or beheading would not be punishment enough for people like this.

Had it happened with one of my kids, I might very well flip and kill the fucker myself, but then I'd expect to be charged with homidice. (And, hopefully, be acquitted.)

A young man who later committed suicide after his release.

The reason for her son's detention? He was carrying "drug paraphernalia."

The court should order all parties liquidated and the money divided among the kids just as a start.
Then some long and harsh jail sentences should be served by all parties involved.

That should make both of these garden slugs eligible for release some time in the next few millenia, and if they don't see the light of day in the meantime, it will be too soon.

Life + 1 day.

I think that ANY law enforcement official that is caught breaking ANY law should be jailed for life without any possibility of parole.

where they send kids who have fallen into the system. Once they are in the system they cannot get out. Most come from disadvantaged backgrounds. There is no mom to yell at the judge. They dont have dads. They have PO's. They get charged and they are locked up and they get used to it . They have no hope. They are being conditioned for lifelong incarceration. And they dont even realize it. Some are mentally ill, no one cares. Some are just frustrated, and no one cares. SOme are just low IQ. Most are on meds. Thats what we do nowadays. We just feed them anti depressants and they are lifelong customers for the Pharm industry.
That is what we get when we privatize. We get a system that preys on the weak.
We are privatizing our schools in Ohio now at a very fast rate. People are taking their children out of highly rated public school and putting them in private school because its free and they can brainwash them with religion and whatever else they like.
Next they will build a football / sports machine in these schools and they will become more powerful.
They used to like to say anyone can grow up to be the president. That was before they privatized everything.
